Lesson 30

Today we reviewed and practiced keeping an accurate checking account register.  It's not as fun as planning our business but we need to practice, practice, practice!

Next we finalized our Dog Donuts menu and chose the quantities of each we want to purchase.  We discussed how there isn't a 'perfect' number; we could run out of some items or we could have some left over.  These are the difficult decisions business owners must make!  Many thanks to Anna and Sophie for finishing the business signs.

Finally, we discussed how we can purchase some items in advance but others need to be purchased the day of to ensure they are fresh.

Parents:  I would like permission to walk your student to the Walmart Neighborhood Market store during class next week to involve them in the purchasing process.  I have done this in the past and it is a good lesson. I will review safety precautions and proper store etiquette prior to leaving the Trinity campus.   Please email me if you have concerns with this and we can change the plan.

Homework:

Students should complete (2) worksheets which are located in their notebooks:

1. Researching a business that has offered goods & services for more than 25 years.

2.  Researching the philanthropist of their choice.

Other than the blank checks and deposit tickets, the above noted worksheets should be the last to complete for this school year.

++Reminder:  Class business: Tuesday, April 27 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.++
